Lloyd Newcastle BMW Appoint New EV Consultant

Lloyd Newcastle BMW has appointed Elm EV’s Suzie Guest-Martin as their new BMWi Consultant. Suzie joins Lloyd Newcastle having previously made her name with her own business in the electric vehicle market with Elm EV, an electric vehicle charge point company formed in 2013. She said:

“I’ve been working on changing perceptions of electric vehicles for the last two years so the move to Lloyd Newcastle to become BMWi Consultant is an obvious one. BMW has a reputation for quality and for being at the cutting edge of technology, so I’m delighted to be joining a business at the forefront of the industry. Everyone here is focused on helping customers find the right vehicle for them, and I look forward to sharing my expertise in the electric vehicle market with Lloyd customers.”

Elm EV is now run by Dan Martin and Anthony Piggott and was the first in the North East to offer free electric vehicle charge points to domestic customers as part of the government’s plug-in vehicle scheme. It has since switched to supplying commercial clients including the NHS. Suzie said:

“I have built up a lot of knowledge and experience by working with a number of manufacturers on communicating the benefits of electric vehicles to the public. As part of that work, I have driven all the electric vehicles currently on the market and understand exactly where the BMWi vehicles stand in the market as well as the current market landscape.”

Suzie will offer her extensive expertise to Lloyd Newcastle BMW customers exploring both the BMW i3 and the BMW i8.

“The BMWi range is fantastic to drive and brings all the quality that BMW has come to stand for to the electric car market. The i3 is very different to many electric vehicles out there at the moment and it attracts a very different market. It’s a beautiful car to drive and look at and it often surprises people. It’s very well placed in the market, offering the latest technology inside and out. I want to open people’s eyes to what the BMWi range offers – both in the electric vehicle market and the wider market.”

Michelle Caveney, Head of Business at Lloyd Motor Group, added:

“When we were looking for a BMWi Consultant we wanted somebody who was already up to speed with electric vehicle technology as well as someone with a passion for the cars and the future of the industry. Suzie has a very impressive background in the industry and we are sure her knowledge and expertise will be a fantastic addition to the team at Lloyd Newcastle BMW. The BMWi range is a growing part of our business at Lloyd Newcastle BMW and having a dedicated point of contact for BMWi customers means we can offer an unrivalled level of expertise and service.”
